Interfaith Series Seeks to Foster Dialogue Among Different Faiths in Austin
St. Theresa Catholic Church will host the first of four interfaith panels and discussions this spring in Austin on Wednesday,
March 29, at 7 PM
in Jordan Hall. The series,
May All Be One
, is open to the public and seeks to increase interaction, understanding and cooperation between people of different religions, including Protestant, Muslim and Catholic. Each event includes a panel discussion by leaders of different faiths and dialogue among attendees.
The panel March 29
includes Iman Okan Dogan of the Dialogue Institute; Fr. Bud Roland, pastor of St. John Neumann Catholic Church; and Dr. Larry Bethune, senior pastor of University Baptist Church. Subsequent panels and discussions are scheduled for 7 PM:
- April 5th at St. John Neumann Catholic Church
- April 19th at Highland Park Baptist Church
- April 26th at the Dialogue Institute
Pope Francis has made interfaith dialogue a priority and has asked us to pray that “sincere dialogue among men and women of different faiths may produce the fruits of peace and justice,” and that “by means of dialogue and fraternal charity and with the grace of the Holy Spirit, Christians may overcome divisions.” The Vatican released a
of this message from the Pope in January 2016, which features leaders of different faiths.
