Lectors serve the entire worship community of the parish by proclaiming the scripture readings at parish liturgies.  Prospective lectors are called to be persons of prayer with good public speaking skills.

Training:  Training sessions lasting two hours are required before serving as a lector.  Lectors must prayerfully prepare the readings before proclaiming them at mass.

Time Commitment:  Lectors read once every five or six weeks.  Preparation is done at home.  Lectors should come to mass at least 15 minutes early to prepare.
