Mothers of Young Children is a parish group with the purpose of fostering friendships and providing opportunities for spiritual and intellectual growth for mothers of young children (birth – 5 years old) and expectant mothers.
MYC activities include many ways for both working and non-working mothers to enrich their family's lives. Membership in the group requires a small annual fee and events are planned through member participation. Activities include:
- Monthly meetings, generally the third Friday of each month from September through May. Most meetings begin at 9:45 am and end around 11:45. Babysitting is provided with a reservation and a small fee.
- Mom's Night Out, generally the Wednesday or Thursday after the meeting, with some exceptions. Members meet in the evening, usually for dinner at a local restaurant.
- Family Events include ice cream socials, couples' dinners, and other weekend family get togethers.
- Annual half-day retreat, usually on a Saturday morning in the spring.
- Playgroups, meet weekly at the convenience of its members. Playgroups are organized by year of birth.
- An annual service project.
