St. Theresa's Pro-Life Committee works to promote respect for human life at all stages and to bring about openness to God's sacred gift of life as put forth in the papal encyclical Evangelium Vitae, the Gospel of Life.

As a parish pro-life ministry , we work to make the parish a community of life, a place where parishioners understand the issues and the importance of meeting the needs of those who are most vulnerable—especially mothers and their unborn children—and those who are seriously ill or dying and their families.

Our activities include:

  • Promote the Diocesan Pro-life Dinner, Majella Society Dinner, and Texas Alliance for Life Dinner.
  • Collect sponsors for the Texas Alliance for Life’s Walk for Life in June.
  • Gather for a Holy Hour on the first Monday of the month to pray for a Culture of Life.
  • Promote Natural Family Planning within the parish with displays and literature in the narthex during Natural Family Planning Awareness Week in July.
  • Host guest speakers who are experts in current pro-life topics, such as the adult stem-cell research.
  • Distribute Baby Banks, which support Diocesan Crisis Pregnancy Centers and Diocesan Office of Pro-Life Activities.
  • Host a Prayer Vigil for Life for the Diocese
  • Attend the Diocesan Pro-Life Rosary and Mass as well as the Texas Alliance for Life Rally for Life, which takes place at the Capitol near the anniversary of Roe v. Wade.

If you would like more information about our committee or would like to have fun and join in the work of building the Gospel of Life, please contact the parish office.  Our meetings are the second Tuesday of the month in the Robo Lab or the Library of the school at 7:30 pm.
